To waste numberthe reference number of the container they were transferred to, or New to create a new container
Store inif creating a new container, the location it will be held in

The system lists all the containers that will be transferred along with their type and radionuclides they contain.

Containers can be added and removed using the Add Waste and Remove Waste buttons.

On confirmation a new waste container reference will be allocated if applicable.

Edit Transfer Details

Allows the user to edit the details of a container when it was transferred into other container.

It is identical in operation to Transfer to a new container.

Edit Seal Details

Allows the user to edit the details of when and who sealed a container. It is identical in operation to Seal this waste.

Note this option is only available for bags created within the decay store using the Transfer to a new container option. Adjusting the sealed date of containers created by departments would need returning to the department first (editing the Move to Decay Store option).

Move to a Different Area

Allows the user to move containers to another part of the decay store.

After selecting the containers to be moved the user must enter:

Move tothe new location
Date / Time movedwhen they were moved
Moved bywho moved then

Create Waste from Clipboard

Allows the user to import a number of waste containers that have been transferred from another IsoStock system.

The waste details (which may have been sent via email) must be on the clipboard before selecting this option.

The user can enter:

Created bythe person creating the waste
Date / Timewhen it was brought onto site
Group all waste into 1 containerallows the user to create 1 container containing all the imported waste instead of each individual container

The screen shows a list of all containers being imported. The user can update:

Referencethe unique reference code for the container
Container Typethe type of container
Placed inwhere the waste will be kept

Reference codes will be allocated where necessary. Container types will be selected automatically if they are identical to the site sending the waste.

Edit Movement

Allows the user to edit a movement transaction for a waste container. It is identical in operation to Move to a different area

Delete Movement

Allows the user to delete a movement transaction for a waste container.

Edit Location Check

Allows the user to edit the location check information recorded during a physical waste check. See Reports – Physical Waste Check.

Delete Location Check

Allows the user to delete the location check information recorded during a physical waste check. See Reports – Physical Waste Check.

Edit This Waste Consignment

Allows the user to edit the details for the consignment to which the waste container has been allocated. It is identical in operation to Create a waste consignment.

Edit / View Contents

Allows the user to view and edit the contents of a container.

A list of disposals and transfers will be displayed showing:

Date / timewhen the disposal/transfer was made
Detailthe compound that was disposed of / the waste container that was transferred
Radionuclidethe radionuclide it contained
Activitythe current activity of that piece of waste

Highlighting an entry and clicking Edit Waste will allow the user to edit the original disposal or transfer. These options are identical to Compound Details – Dispose and Transfer to New container.

Highlighting an entry and clicking Remove Waste will allow the user to delete the original disposal removing the compound or waste from the container

Record Count

This option allows the user to record the use of a meter to measure the counts per section and calculate the activity.

You will need to have a meter/monitor already configured. See Setup – Meters/monitors.

Date/time measureddate and time of measurement
Measured byuser recording the measurement
Containsradionuclide expected/measured
Metername of meter/monitor being used
Backgroundbackground measurement in cps

IsoStock will calculate the equivalent activity from the cps values and sensitivity of the meter.

A further option Add to manual adjust option automatically transfers the information on to the Manual Adjust screen.

You cannot add to the manual adjust if the container contains waste for this radionuclide.

Edit Count

This option allows the user to edit a previously recorded count. Highlight the count transaction in the bottom section and select Edit Count.

Delete Count

This option allows the user to delete a previously recorded count. Highlight the count transaction in the bottom section and select Delete Count.

Manually Adjust Contents

Allows the user to manually specify the amount of activity contained within a bag. Under normal operation the activity within a bag is calculated from the disposals made to it. If however waste was received onto the site this option allows the user to enter the initial activity. It can also be used for low level waste, such as sharps, swabs etc which have not been specifically tied to compounds.

Note it is always advisable to tie all waste, however small, to a compound as this provides a more complete record.

The user must enter the date and time on which the activity is being specified. Then enter the total activity of each radionuclide decay corrected for this date.

The Nominal calculations option recalculates the contents without allowing for decay. This helps calculate contamination radionuclides, as they can then be calculated as a percentage of the nominal/non decay corrected contents.

View Decay Graph

Displays a graph showing the decay of the highlighted container.

There is a drop=down for selecting 1 month, 1 year or 10 years of decay.

View Decay Table

Displays a table showing how the selected item will decay over a given period. This will be for a single container, multiple containers if selected, or a consignment if the highlighted container is allocated to a consignment.

There is a drop-down for selecting days, weeks, months or years, with decay calculated as a total and in radionuclide/waste type combinations.

Additional Analysis

This option provides further calculations to help manage the decay store and plan for disposals.

Each container is listed with up to 8 individual calculations. These range from decay corrected activities on specified dates, to predicted decay times to reach ideal disposal levels.

The defaults for this screen can be set on Setup – Preferences.

Edit Waste Details

Allows the user to edit the details of a container created from within the decay store.

The details that can be recorded are:
