Users

Allows the user to manage the list of users that can use the system, the departments that they have access to and the security level that is assigned to them.

The screen lists all the current users’ details:

Namethe login name/user name
Levelthe security level that is enforced
Departmentthe department(s) they have access to
Unique IDif the network ID is added, the login screen can auto-select the user
Rad user?the user is listed as an option during data entry

Colour is used to indicate status:

Blackactive users with access
Greya user with access but not listed for radioactivity
Reda user with access, but not listed for radioactivity
Bluea user listed for radioactivity, with access disabled

There is a drop-down for selecting which users to display:

Active usersall users listed on screens
Inactive usersold users no longer listed on screens
In departmentusers that have access to the specified department
Users with accessusers that have a security level enabled
Radioactivity usersusers that are enabled for radioactivity entries
Allall users

Add a New User

Allows the user to add another user to the system.

The details that must be entered are:

First namethe user’s surname/family name
Surnamethe user’s surname/family name
Unique IDthe user’s unique identifier
User namethis is automatically created from the first name, surname and ID. At least one of these must be entered
Passwordthe password the user uses to login
Start of radioactive workwhen the user started using radioactivity
End of radioactive workwhen the user stopped using radioactivity
Authorisation notesnotes that are displayed while authorising requests made by this user
Accessthe level of access that the user has.
Departmentswhich departments the user has access to. Selecting All gives a choice of whether or not the user is displayed on lists. This can be used for a supervisor who has access to the system but does not carry out radioactive work
User can be selected on lists and transactionswhether the user is current and is displayed on user lists on entry screens

Note that it is only possible to grant access lower than the access of the currently logged-in user.

Before new Users can log in, IT will need to ensure that the user has read/write access to the IsoStock folder.

Note that the inclusion of users on entry screens is influenced by two options (Access and User can be selected on lists and transactions)
These can be configured for:
A user with access that also uses radioactivity (the most common)
A user with access that doesn’t use radioactivity
A user who interacts with radioactivity but does not use IsoStock

Edit This User

Allows the user to edit any of the user details. It is identical in operation to Add a new user.

Delete This User

Allows the user to delete a user that is not needed in the system.

It is not possible to delete a user if they have any records logged against them, however they can be deactivated.

How to Deactivate User

To deactivate a user that has records, start by editing the user.

  • Setting the Access to “No access” will disable login for that user
  • Unticking User can be selected on lists and transactions will remove them from all entry screens.

Prints a list of all the users displayed.

Prints an A4 Training Certificate with the user’s name on it. This can be kept as a training record.
