This option is for selecting the radionuclides that can be used on-site.
A list of all radionuclides is displayed detailing:
| Symbol | the radionuclide symbol/chemical form |
| Name | the radionuclide name |
| Open | whether the radionuclide is used for open sources |
| Sealed | whether the radionuclide is used for sealed sources |
| Half life | the half life of the radionuclide |
| Group | the group it is part of (for Permits) |
Colour is used to indicate use:
| Black | used for open sources |
| Green | used for sealed sources |
| Grey | not currently used |
There is a drop-down to select between used, open, sealed and unused radionuclides
Edit Radionuclide Details
The option allows the user to change the status of a radionuclide.
The data that can be entered is:
| Group | the group to be included in, for Permits |
| Default expiry | the default time at which compounds containing this nuclide should be considered of no use |
| Indicate if kept as waste for more than | the maximum time the waste containing this nuclide should be kept |
| Can be used for open sources | the nuclide is listed on open source screens |
| Can be used for sealed sources | the nuclide is listed on sealed source screens |
| Minimum acceptable activity | the minimum activity that the user is allowed to enter when acquiring new compounds |
| Maximum acceptable activity | the maximum activity that the user is allows to enter when acquiring new compounds |
| ALI / Equiv MBq / e(g) / R | the appropriate factor as selected in Setup – Preferences |
| Default reference date | default reference date to use when adding new sources |
| Sources exempt below | auto-exemption activity limit for Sealed Sources |
| Activity less than | for highlighting when waste containing this nuclide is below |
| Concentration less than (kg) | for calculating when waste containing this nuclide has a weight concentration below |
| Concentration less than (l) | for calculating when waste containing this nuclide has a volume concentration below |
