Radionuclides

This option is for selecting the radionuclides that can be used on-site.

A list of all radionuclides is displayed detailing:

Symbolthe radionuclide symbol/chemical form
Namethe radionuclide name
Openwhether the radionuclide is used for open sources
Sealedwhether the radionuclide is used for sealed sources
Half lifethe half life of the radionuclide
Groupthe group it is part of (for Permits)

Colour is used to indicate use:

Blackused for open sources
Greenused for sealed sources
Greynot currently used

There is a drop-down to select between used, open, sealed and unused radionuclides

Edit Radionuclide Details

The option allows the user to change the status of a radionuclide.

The data that can be entered is:

Default expirythe default time at which compounds containing this nuclide should be considered of no use
Indicate if kept as waste for more thanthe maximum time the waste containing this nuclide should be kept
Can be used for open sourcesthe nuclide is listed on open source screens
Can be used for sealed sourcesthe nuclide is listed on sealed source screens
Minimum acceptable activitythe minimum activity that the user is allowed to enter when acquiring new compounds
Maximum acceptable activitythe maximum activity that the user is allows to enter when acquiring new compounds
ALI / Equiv MBq / e(g) / Rthe appropriate factor as selected in Setup – Preferences
