Checking/Releasing
Radiopharmaceuticals need to be checked before they can be used by distributed to Nuclear Medicine.
This can be recorded on the Radiopharmacy tab, under the Distribute/release items menu option. When you first open the screen, the items will be shown in red to indicate they need confirming.
Confirming/Releasing a Radiopharmaceutical
To confirm/release, highlight the item and select [Confirm details/release] from the side menu.
Check the details on the screen and click [OK] to confirm.
Transferring to Nuclear Medicine
You will need to transfer the items to Nuclear Medicine for them to use.
This can also be recorded on the same screen.
Moving an Item
To move an item, highlight it and click [Move this compound] on the left-hand menu.
Select Nuclear Medicine and the Radiopharmacy collection location. This will put the items into a holding area. Nuclear Medicine will move them from this location into the final location.
Once a move has been made once, it will be available on the [Recent moves…] button for quick selection.
Click [OK] to confirm the move. The item will turn grey to say that it is no longer in the Radiopharmacy.
Creating Consignments of Items to an External Organisation
You can also record the transfer of items to other organisations using the same screen.
External requests will show the site in the For department/site column.
On the third drop-down, select the organisation to transfer to. This will filter the list to show items requested by that organisation.
Create a Consignment
Click the [Create consignment] option on the left-hand menu.
Tick the items that will be included in the consignment.
Add the transport package in the Reference field.
When you click [OK] it will create the consignment and allocate a unique consignment reference. The item will turn pale blue to indicate that it has been consigned.
The consignment details can be printed using the [Print this consignment] option on the side menu.
