Radiopharmacy Training – Preparation

Non-Radioactive Consumables

Adding New Consumables

Consumables and pharmaceutical products can be recorded in IsoStock, and subsequently referenced during manufacture.

They are managed on the menu option Radiopharmacy, then under Consumable Pharmaceutical Items.

To add a new item, click [Add a new item] from the menu.

You can select any pre-configured item from the Catalogue code drop-down list.

The Needs QA check option adds a secondary check against the item after entry, before use.

When you click [OK], the item is given a unique reference code.

The Consumables screen will update with the new item added to the list.

If you selected Needs QA check, the item is shown in blue to indicate that this must be completed.

You can complete this using the [QA check/confirm] menu option.

You should be able to accept the defaults and click [OK]. The item will turn black, and the details at the bottom will show the QA Check date/time/user.

Generators

Adding a New Generator Request

You have two options for adding radioactive items to IsoStock. You can add them as they arrive on-site, simply filling in the details at that time. Alternatively, it is recommended to enter the details before their arrival.

For a generator, this gives you the option of referencing it within Planning, before it arrives on site.

You can record the expected delivery within the menu option Radiopharmacy under Planning – external orders. Click the [Create a new order] option to pre-enter the details.

You can select the generator from the Catalogue code drop-down list, which will fill in much of the detail by default.

You will need to complete the Date/Time required and the expected date/time to calculate the arrival activity.

You will also need to enter the Reference date/time so that IsoStock can correctly calculate the activity and any Tc-99m yield.

When you click [OK], the generator will be given a unique reference code.
